An extract on #puppydog
The cartoon revolves around a sensible but cheerful dog who is teaching her friend Ruff, a rather naughty dog, lessons and morals.
During the beginning of each episode Rosie reports the news and at end of each episode there is a song about what is learned during the episode.
Two VHS videos of the show were released in the early 1990s.
The programme was animated in a similar way to Hayton's previous work using cut-out images against patterned backdrops. Doris herself was a black and white cat, who had several cat friends, especially Marlon, the cat from next door. Doris was broadcast in the mid-1980s on British television, though had very little merchandise. Puppydog Tales, a series which had a similar look to Doris, which was broadcast in the early 1990s.
It is a multiple award-winning wildlife program, number one in its time slot for five years running, and provides stunning photography coupled with a genuine feeling for the subject matter. There are 104 episodes in the series, each 30 minutes long.
The album features guest appearances from Phish members Anastasio, Mike Gordon, and Jon Fishman. "Tow Truck Driver" is a collaboration between the Dude of Life and Anastasio.
The Dude's backing band on the album is The Great Red Shark.
The album has been out of print since 2000.
